Mason Mount is reportedly in line for a new contract at Stamford Bridge – and some Chelsea fans on Twitter are buzzing with the speculation.
According to 90min, Chelsea are ready to give the 22-year-old a new “lucrative” deal as a reward for his form.
It is understood the Blues are readying discussions with the England international, albeit a formal offer is yet to be made.
The report explains that his current £75,000-a-week wages could be doubled to around £150,000-a-week. Also, there may an extra two years added onto a deal that is due to expire in 2024.
Despite the fact Mount only signed a Chelsea deal two years ago, they are ready to improve terms of his contract to match his importance at the club.
The attacking midfielder was integral under former boss Frank Lampard.
Similarly, he’s managed to become an ever-present since German manager Thomas Tuchel took charge in West London.

New Mason Mount contract is justified
Mount is now into his third full season as a first-team player at Chelsea, so it’s remarkable to consider how quickly he’s made himself one of the most reliable and consistent individuals in the squad.
He was key during the club’s Champions League success last season, which is enough in itself to earn a contract boost.
A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media have made it clear they are fully behind the deal of giving Mount an improved deal.
He’s still searching for his best form at the beginning of this 2021/22 campaign, but it seems like only a matter of time before he really kicks into gear.
