'Rest him', 'No more risky moves': Some Chelsea fans react to early team news for Brighton
N’Golo Kante was involved in training ahead of tonight’s game against Brighton – and some Chelsea fans on Twitter have reacted after hearing the early team news.
The Blues confirmed that the 30-year-old has been training with the group, despite the fact he was forced off with a suspected injury in the weekend’s victory against Aston Villa.
It looks like the French midfielder is available for Wednesday’s Premier League encounter at home to Brighton at Stamford Bridge.
Kante, who’s been earning rave reviews from his manager Thomas Tuchel this week, is such a vital player within the squad.
The box-to-box central midfielder has had a spate of injury issues plague him, but there is nobody quite like him when he’s on form and playing anywhere near to the best of his ability.
Chelsea fans urge caution
A selection of Blues supporters on social media have responded to the Kante news by urging Tuchel to be careful with his fitness.
There are plenty who suggest he should be rested tonight, especially because there is a mouth-watering league contest at home to Liverpool on 2 January.
If Kante sits out against Brighton, senior duo Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho are an option to start in the centre of the park. However, Tuchel’s trying to rotate minutes within his squad to try avoid another pile up of injuries.
The Blues are desperate for three points regardless of whoever takes to the field because they can’t allow the six-point deficit to league leaders Manchester City grow any further.
