Some Chelsea fans rave about their ‘consistent’ player after 1-0 Malmo victory

Chelsea narrowly beat Malmo 1-0 on Tuesday in the Champions League group stages – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter were left majorly impressed with the performance of their star …

The Blues secured an away win by a one-goal margin on their trip to Sweden.

Hakim Ziyech turned out to be the match-winner with his goal in the 56th minute, tapping into an empty net after a stunning assisted pass from Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Thomas Tuchel’s side now have four points from their opening four games in the group stages, so are in a strong position in their bid to reach the knockout rounds.

Chelsea now boast a strong seven-game unbeaten run that is showing no signs of slowing down. They weren’t at their fluent best in Sweden against a stubborn opponent in Malmo, but remained professional and passed the ball around well.

Chelsea fans pick out Christensen

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media believe Christensen was seriously impressive tonight.

In fairness, the 25-year-old defender didn’t have too much work to do with his back to goal. He stepped in when needed on a couple of occasions.

However, a lot of his game was spent on the ball and being heavily involved in Chelsea’s play in possession. The ball-playing centre-half showed why he’s so important to Blues manager Tuchel with what he can do on the ball. For instance, he saw one decent effort from range saved.

Here are some Blues fans discussing Christensen:

Academy boys shine again

Ruben Loftus-Cheek, along with Callum Hudson-Odoi, deserve special praise for their individual performances against Malmo.

It was a game the Blues were struggling to get past the opponents, but the academy duo provided that spark.

Loftus-Cheek definitely made the most of his recall to the side with an eye-catching performance in midfield. Also, Hudson-Odoi produced the magic for the goal.
