'Start him’: Some Chelsea fans urge Tuchel to play 25-year-old v Newcastle

Chelsea travel to Newcastle United tomorrow in the Premier League – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter are desperate to see Ruben Loftus-Cheek start.

The Blues will be looking to maintain their position at the top of the league table tomorrow when they make the long trip to St James’ Park to face an opponent in 19th.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner, Mateo Kovacic and Christian Pulisic are the four first-team players unavailable this weekend. However, everyone else in the squad is available for selection.

With Loftus-Cheek available again after his midweek absence, a selection of Chelsea supporters on social media want to see him in the starting line-up.

Blues fans demand more  Loftus-Cheek minutes

Loftus-Cheek’s reintroduction at Stamford Bridge has gone down very well this season, with Tuchel bringing him into the senior squad.

He’s featured in the last four consecutive Premier League games and has showed real signs of getting back to his best. The all-action central midfielder looks stronger, quicker and more composed on the pitch.

Kovacic’s injury blow definitely opens up a door in the midfield, but a N’Golo Kante-Jorginho pivot is still perhaps a favoured option for the manager.

For Loftus-Cheek, he just needs to keep impressing whenever he’s on the pitch.

Here are some Blues fans that want to see the 25-year-old playing on Saturday afternoon:

Chelsea v Newcastle a mismatch on paper

Despite the fact they play away from home, Chelsea are overwhelming favourites to earn three points tomorrow.

Tuchel’s men sit top of the pile after nine games and are living up to the tag of possible title challengers. In contrast, manageress Newcastle are in the relegation zone and without a league win this season.

However, take your eye off the ball in this league at your own peril. The Blues surely haven’t gone into any game with complacency since the 5-2 humbling they received against West Brom back in April.
