Chelsea have released a short training ground clip of Ross Barkley – and some Blues fans on Twitter are predicting a potential comeback from him.

Barkley, 27, is back with the Chelsea first-team squad this season after spending the previous year out on loan with Aston Villa.

The English midfielder looked miles down the Blues pecking order going into this campaign after an average loan spell, but there are signs he may be getting another shot at Stamford Bridge.

He’s working with Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel for the first time, so it’s somewhat of a clean slate for him.

The creator has already made three cameo appearances from the bench this season and is looking to work his way back into favour at Chelsea.

Is there room for Barkley?

Yes, Barkley has an extremely uphill challenge to get into the starting line-up. That’s not to say there isn’t room for him in the squad, though.

The £96,000-a-week man provides an option as either a midfielder or attacking midfielder, which should help his chances of featuring.

Also, the fixture load means Tuchel will need to rotate freely at times.

He’s someone with vast Premier League experience that needs to put everything into training to prove himself.

Chelsea fans love Barkley training footage

A selection of Blues supporters love the Barkley training clip shown on the club’s Twitter

The footage shows the box-to-box midfielder dribbling clear of teammate Callum Hudson-Odoi before finishing into the net.

He’s always had top quality, something which was obvious when he broke onto the first-team scene as a youngster with Everton.

However, his Chelsea career has never really taken off like he may have hoped. He’s scored 11 goals and made 11 assists in 89 appearances for the London giants.

Here are some Blues fans that are upbeat about Barkley, though:
