'Will run riot': Some Chelsea fans want Paul Pogba signed after recent development

A handful of Chelsea supporters on social media have ordered the club to push for Paul Pogba’s signature in the summer.

This sudden surge from the Stamford Bridge faithful was a response to a report from the Telegraph about the Manchester United midfielder’s future.

Apparently, Pogba is willing to wait until the campaign concludes before making a decision about extending his stay at Old Trafford beyond the end of his contract.

The Frenchman will also listen to all offers from outside suitors, including those from within the Premier League’s mighty walls.

United’s curious club-record signing shall be set free to the market in the summer unless he renews his deal.

Could Pogba be heading to the the Bridge?

Rumours of a move to Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain have swamped our screens for ages, but potentially staying put in England adds another twist to this tale.

Although his time back at United hasn’t quite lived up to expectations, Pogba remains a world-class talent that any team would gratefully welcome into their squad.

Whilst Chelsea are probably looking elsewhere in the transfer landscape right now, their interest might’ve been tweaked by this latest development.

It’s certainly heightened the excitement around the fan base, as they envisage a Fantasy Football style midfield at Stamford Bridge with Pogba in the mix.

Here’s what they had to say about United’s number six:

Paul would be cool in Chelsea colours

Understandably, very few Chelsea followers would turn their head at the chance of pulling Pogba to London.

After all, anything that thwarts United will be seen as a bonus.

Plus, just imagine the partnership he and N’Golo Kante could form again.

This particular duo shone searingly bright during France’s triumphant 2018 World Cup campaign.

A perfect blend of skill, strength, energy and intelligence, all wrapped up into one dream midfield bundle.

Kante isn’t the only one his compatriot could connect with at Chelsea.

Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho aren’t half-bad footballers either, potentially made better with Pogba by their side.

However, there is one major negative to this hypothetical scene.

Pogba’s presence would surely prevent Conor Gallagher from establishing a place in Thomas Tuchel’s group.

After performing so well on loan at Crystal Palace and pretty much setting himself up for a return to the Blues, to have that ripped away feels beyond cruel.

Perhaps we’ll leave Pogba in imaginary land for now, but this isn’t to say we won’t revisit.
