'Wow, that's great': Some Chelsea fans delighted with what they're reading about their £30m man

Saul Niguez reportedly has no plans to return to Atletico Madrid in January – and some Chelsea fans are delighted with the speculation.

Saul, who joined the Blues in the summer on a season-long loan from Atletico, has had a difficult start to life at Stamford Bridge. He’s made a total of five Chelsea appearances all season so far, which is why his £30million option to buy doesn’t look too appealing right now.

According to The Telegraph, Saul wants to use the current international break to get his career at the Bridge back on track.

The report explains the 26-year-old Spaniard remains “committed” to Chelsea, so there are no signs of Atletico cutting the loan deal short in the New Year.

Chelsea fans get behind Saul

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media are reacting to the Saul report to claim there is still a chance he can be a success.

He finds himself struggling for minutes under manager Thomas Tuchel. However, these next two weeks are a massive opportunity to impress in training sessions.

The left-footed midfielder was one of Europe’s very best during part of his Atletico career, which is why it would be great if the Blues can unlock his true potential.

Here are some Chelsea fans discussing Saul:

Midfield pecking order

Unfortunately, Saul sits bottom of the pile right now when it comes to central midfielders in west London. However, the sheer amount of fixtures means the door will open for him at certain times, so he’s got to be ready to seize a chance.

N’Golo Kante, Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic appear the leading trio on paper. But, Ruben Loftus-Cheek has thrown his name right into the mix during the last few weeks.

Tuchel has midfielders with different kinds of attributes, so the option is there to rotate depending on the match.
