Brentford manager Thomas Frank has confirmed a double injury boost for his side ahead of tomorrow’s match against Chelsea.

Brentford, who were promoted from the Championship last year, have made a strong start this season in the Premier League.

The Bees are seventh in the league table going into this weekend’s fixtures, with current leaders Chelsea up next.

Frank shared in his Thursday pre-match press conference that he’ll have two first-team players available once again. Brentford duo Kristoffer Ajer and Vitaly Janelt are both in contention to play this Saturday.

Firstly, defender Ajer is back in the squad after missing Brentford’s previous match with a hamstring problem. The 23-year-old centre-half has been an ever-present in the XI this season when fit, settling extremely quickly since he joined from Celtic in the summer.

Secondly, 23-year-old defensive midfielder Janelt is once again ready for selection after recovering from a thigh problem. He’ll provide the steel and energy needed for the visit of the league leaders.

Brentford will pose Chelsea threat

For Chelsea, the next month is a chance to try build an advantage at the top of the Premier League table.

Thomas Tuchel’s Blues sit a point clear at the top and now have some favourable fixtures.

However, weekend opponents Brentford have shown they can mix it with the big boys. They’ve already drawn with Liverpool, along with beat both West Ham and Arsenal.

Chelsea’s back-three will surely be preparing in this week’s build-up to the proposition of facing two Brentford strikers, as they like to operate with a two-man attack.

Chelsea defence will be tested

Tuchel’s impact on the Chelsea defence in 2021 has been staggering, with many now considering them the best defensive unit across the whole of Europe.

They’ve conceded just three goals in the opening seven league matches, but it could be a busy game on Saturday against a frantic Brentford team.

Brentford have scored seven goals in their last three league games.

Fortunately, Blues goalkeeper Edouard Mendy is a colossus in net for Chelsea. Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly recently claimed he’s amazed the shot-stopper is not on a 30-man shortlist for the Ballon d’Or award
