Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has said that two of his players are injury concerns ahead of tomorrow’s cup tie against Brentford.
Chelsea are currently preparing for their trip to Premier League rivals Brentford on Wednesday, but they are about to lock horns with a place in the Carabao Cup semi-finals up for grabs.
The Blues have had a dramatic run to the quarter-finals so far.
First of all, they beat Aston Villa on penalties back in September via a penalty shootout. They followed that up in October by beating Southampton on penalties, too.
Manchester City have remarkably won five of the last six League Cup competitions, with Chelsea last winning the prize against Tottenham back in 2015.
Tuchel has said ahead of Chelsea’s latest Carabao Cup fixture that defenders Andreas Christensen and Trevoh Chalobah are both at risk of missing Wednesday night’s match.
“Andreas is very doubtful with injury and the same for Trevoh Chalobah,” Tuchel said.
In addition, N’Golo Kante will be rested.

New-look Chelsea defence?
With centre-halves Christensen and Chalobah both potentially out of Brentford, Chelsea look fairly short of options tomorrow to start in the back three.
They’ve got the experienced trio of Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger and Thiago Silva who all started the weekend’s 0-0 league draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
But, surely they need to rotate and try avoid injuries with so many games coming up.
Malang Sarr is definitely a squad option that has to come into the plans. Also, academy star Xavier Mbuyamba is an outside shot that the manager could think of.
It’s a real challenge for Tuchel to negotiate all the games coming Chelsea’s way when they’ve got a depleted group of players available to them.
