'9/10', 'Lethal': Media blown away by 23-year-old Chelsea star's display for his country

Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic inspired the United States to a crucial victory in their latest match, earning him a glowing review in the media.

The US thrashed Panama 5-1 in an important World Cup qualifier to put them on verge of qualification to Qatar.

Pulisic scored a hat-trick for the home side, including two penalties in the first-half. The 23-year-old added his third in the contest in fine style, too.

He’s been a talisman for his country for several years now and delivered a top-class performance when they needed it most.

His individual performance led to plenty of praise in the media, including a 9/10 match rating from MLS Soccer.

James Officially Returns To HITC!

“In a must-win match, Christian Pulisic put the team on his back in arguably his best performance in a US shirt. The Chelsea attacker calmly dispatched two first-half penalties before making it a hat trick with a silky turn and deft finish. Outside of the goals, he was consistently the most dangerous player on the pitch, lethal in transition and unfortunate not to notch an assist or two,” they wrote.

Chelsea bossing international break

It’s been great to see so many of the Blues individuals shining for their respective countries.

It was an absolute masterclass from Pulisic today, who now needs to help the US finish the job and officially book qualification to the World Cup when they face Costa Rice in a few days time.

Elsewhere, fellow Chelsea attackers Timo Werner and Kai Havertz were both on the scoresheet in Germany’s recent match.

Blues loanee Conor Gallagher impressed on his first England start at the weekend, too.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel should be delighted to see so many individuals catching the eye away from the club.
