'Thing of beauty': Chelsea fans loved what they saw Mason Mount do in England training
Chelsea supporters on social media have been purring over a moment of magic Mason Mount produced while training with England yesterday.
The Three Lions’ official Twitter account captured Mount scoring a screamer in a small-sided game.
Collecting the ball on his ‘weaker’ left foot, the midfielder drilled the ball into the top corner past a despaired diving Jordan Pickford.
It was a shot worthy of winning any match, let alone an in-house drill.
Understandably, Chelsea fans fell head over heels for their Stamford Bridge star’s stellar effort.
Here’s how they reacted on Twitter:
THIS IS INSANE

More to come from Mason
As some Blues followers rightly pointed out, it would be marvellous if Mount was able to reproduce those strikes in a real-life scenario.
Not renowned for his scoring prowess, the 22-year-old could easily climb to football’s highest echelons if he started smashing in the goals on a regular basis.
Of course, the Cobham student is already among the world’s very best.
He has been named on the 30-man shortlist for the upcoming Ballon d’Or ceremony.
Mount, alongside Cesar Azpilicueta, Jorginho, N’Golo Kante and Romelu Lukaku, will aim to bring the award back to south west London.
Although the England international is unlikely to claim the individual honour, it speaks volumes he was nominated.
But had he added to the nine goals he scored last season, a few more votes may have been sent in his direction.
Ballon d’Or boys
Of the five Chelsea nominees, Jorginho probably has the greatest chance of lifting the prize.
Already UEFA men’s player of the year and winner of the Champions League, European Championship and Super Cup, the Italian is a deserved candidate.
As are Kante, Azpilicueta and Lukaku, all of whom enjoyed excellent campaigns for the Blues and Inter Milan.
