Marc Guehi has raved about the impact Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher has made at Crystal Palace so far this season.

Guehi, 21, was sold by Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea in the summer for £18million to Crystal Palace.

The centre-back came through the academy with the Blues, but has joined a Premier League rival on a permanent basis to continue his development.

Meanwhile, 21-year-old midfielder Gallagher followed in the footsteps of Guehi by making the move from Stamford Bridge to Selhurst Park in the summer. The only difference is Gallagher’s deal with Palace is only a season-long loan.

Gallagher has settled extremely quickly into his loan by becoming a favourite with Palace fans already.

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

The box-to-box central midfielder has a couple of goals and an assist in the Premier League. Also, he’s become a nailed-on starter for Patrick Vieira’s side.

Guehi, who knows Gallagher well from their time together with England’s Under-21s and in Chelsea’s academy, has hailed his current Palace teammate.

“He’s a fantastic player, someone who already has Premier League experience with his time at West Brom, so he’s accustomed to the league,” Guehi said.

“He brings so much energy to the team, that goalscoring form that he is now showing and reproducing. I’m sure he’ll carry on that for the season for us.”

Conor Gallagher showered with praise from all angles

It’s clear that Chelsea have a gem on their hands with Gallagher.

He was one of the standouts in a struggling West Brom team last year, which is why it’s great to now see him out on loan at a club that should be avoiding a relegation scrap.

Jamie Carragher recently praised “energetic” Chelsea loanee Gallagher. In addition, Chris Sutton claimed he “doesn’t stop running”.

His work rate, enthusiasm and directness are all traits that make him so important to the Palace midfield. He looks a throwback to old school midfielders in the sense that he can do a bit of everything.

There IS a path for Chelsea youngsters

With the likes of Tino Livramento, Lewis Bate and Guehi leaving permanently in the summer, people have claimed Chelsea are blocking the way of their academy stars.

However, that couldn’t be further from the truth.

There are numerous examples of academy graduates in Tuchel’s current squad, including new face Trevoh Chalobah this season.

If Gallagher continues to develop at this rate, there is no reason he can’t push for the Chelsea first team next year.
