‘Fabregas and Scholes hybrid’: Some Chelsea fans hail display from loaned-out Blues 20-year-old
Billy Gilmour made his Norwich City debut on Friday in a pre-season friendly – and some Chelsea fans on Twitter were amazed by the quality of his performance.
Gilmour, 20, has joined Norwich on a season-long loan from Chelsea to experience regular first-team football.
The Scotland international started yesterday in a 3-1 Norwich victory against non-league opposition King’s Lynn Town.
The loaned-out Blues midfielder got 45 minutes of football under his belt and has made an immediate great impression.
Gilmour, who wore the number eight shirt yesterday, is with a Norwich team that are preparing for life back in the Premier League after promotion last season from the Championship.
RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.
He’s a deep-lying midfield playmaker that has played in some big games during his 22 senior appearances at Chelsea, but is now set for a full campaign in the Premier League at Carrow Road.
The central midfielder is comfortable receiving the ball anywhere on the pitch, something he showed during his first 45 minutes in a Norwich shirt.
A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media praised him after his display.
A couple even made a bold comparison between him and legendary Premier League duo Cesc Fabregas and Paul Scholes.
