Loftus-Cheek’s nine-word Instagram message ahead of Southampton that should excite Chelsea fans

Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has uploaded a nine-word message on Instagram ahead of the match against Southampton that should excite Blues fans.

Loftus-Cheek, 25, posted a short message on social media on Friday.

“Stay ready, so you don’t have to get ready,” he wrote.

The Blues host Southampton today in a Premier League game at Stamford Bridge, which is the final game before the upcoming international break.

Chelsea sit third in the table after the opening six league games and have a great platform to build on. Thomas Tuchel’s side are entering a run of fixtures that look favourable on paper, too.

It will be interesting to see how many changes manager Tuchel makes to his XI, though, after back-to-back defeats against Manchester City and Juventus.

Chelsea fans should love Loftus-Cheek message

For certain, Loftus-Cheek hasn’t given up on his Chelsea future yet.

The Blues academy graduate stayed with the first-team squad over the summer to the surprise of many and is now trying to force his way into Tuchel’s plans.

It’s clear he’s making strides forwards by featuring in a few games recently and his Instagram post is another indication that he’s fighting for his position at Stamford Bridge.

He sounds ready for action, so could he be included in Saturday’s starting line-up against Southampton?

Loftus-Cheek can hurt Southampton

If you look at Southampton’s style, there may be opportunities for Chelsea to catch them out in transition.

Loftus-Cheek has added something extra as a central midfielder when on the pitch this season, with his ability to dribble forward at pace a real standout.

It wouldn’t be the worst idea for Tuchel to give him a start this weekend.

Chelsea fans can at least be excited by the fact Loftus-Cheek seems to be in a great mental place right now.
