Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has hinted at potential team rotation ahead of Sunday’s trip to Sheffield United, as a couple of players could make their first starts under the new manager.

“To be sharp again and to be physical again” — those are the words from Tuchel when he explained about possible team changes at the weekend.

There are several outfield players who started in each of the last three games under Tuchel, and they are the ones likely going to be rotated.

Aside from Thiago Silva who suffered a thigh injury in the Tottenham win, Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger, Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic and Callum Hudson-Odoi all started the last three games.

This could be an opportunity for the likes of Kurt Zouma, N’Golo Kante, and Billy Gilmour to make their first starts under Tuchel.

Reece James is likely going to keep the right wing-back spot, with Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic, or Kai Havertz potentially coming in to replace Callum Hudson-Odoi and Mason Mount.

It remains unclear whether Zouma and Havertz would be available, however, considering they didn’t make the squad against Spurs due to small injuries.

Timo Werner will be hoping to end his poor goalscoring form at the weekend, but Tammy Abraham or Olivier Giroud are more likely to start at No.9 position.
