How the players rated in Chelsea 0-0 Everton

After a disappointing 0-0 draw with Everton, we look at how the players rated.

Kepa: 7 –

Confident in coming out of his goal to sweep up potential problems. Despite his small frame, he is becoming an assured presence.

Cesar Azpilicueta: 7 –

An improved performance from the captain. His crossing was improved and he defended well. Perhaps he is fitter as the season gets into full swing.

Antonio Rudiger: 7 –

Gave the ball away a few times but he stood up to Richarlison admirably.

David Luiz: 6 –

He gave the ball away in dangerous areas a few times again but he hit some nice long balls.

Marcos Alonso: 6 –

Hit a beautiful volley in the first half. But he lacks that pace to really threaten on the overlap with crosses.

Jorginho: 6 –

Could have easily been sent off for his tackle on Sigurdsson. He was neat and tidy otherwise but he should have demanded more patience from his players in possession. Chelsea looked most dangerous when they kept the ball for long periods.

N’Golo Kante: 6 –

He is slowly becoming better in those forward positions. He remains so valuable for the pressing game and regaining possession at the breakdown.

Mateo Kovacic: 7 –

He was guilty of taking the unambitious option when in good positions a few times. Bot the left hand side became weak after he was substituted off.

Willian: 5 –

He was OK. But he offers less than Pedro to the team. He doesn’t offer width, a left foot or a delivery for Morata. he slows play down.

Eden Hazard: 6 –

He plays better with Pedro in the side. He tried his best and still had wonderful moments worth paying for in themselves.

Alvaro Morata: 5 –

He acted like a child in complaining to the referee and sulking afterwards, almost getting a red card. He was also careless in standing in an offside position when he put the ball in the net from Azpilicueta’s cross.
