After Chelsea beat Bournemouth late on to go through to the EFL Cup Semi-Final, we ask how the players rated.
Kepa: 8
Immaculate handling as he dealt with some tricky efforts on goal. Came out and punched well too.
Cesar Azpilicueta: 6
He passed backwards so much in this game which is irritating. He has become defensively sharper as the season progresses and his crossing is still improving.
Antonio Rudiger: 7
His partnership with Christensen looked good. He also won the aerial duels he went for which he failed to do against Brighton.
Andreas Christensen: 7
He is in an unfortunate position as both Rudiger and David Luiz are playing so well. The Dane was excellent tonight, showing great positional sense and discipline.
Emerson: 8
Slowed down when he was in space to charge into the area which was strange. But he is able to beat a man from a standing start and get a cross in, a valuable skill. He defended pretty really well and deserves to be rated so highly.

Cesc Fabregas: 8
Fantastic long passing adds a completely different dimension to Chelsea’s game. The Spaniard does it even better than Jorginho. Fabregas even chased back with runners and beat people to 50-50 balls. Excellent performance.
Ross Barkley: 5
Very average. He does not seem to have much confidence in his ability so he does not take responsibility to try anything creative and takes easy options. You can see him beating himself up after mistakes. He is struggling a bit.
Mateo Kovacic: 9
Possibly his best perfromance in a Chelsea shirt. He kept the ball in any situation, made effective dribbles forward and was trying very clever through balls that so nearly came off.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek: 8
The most effective player on the pitch by far. The only knock was a failure to kill moves off. He is showing excellent technique, pace and power again and again. Sometimes he looks like a man playing in a boys match he is so absurdly gifted.

Willian: 6
He did not look very threatening frankly. He did not play badly but Loftus-Cheek was far more dangerous.
Olivier Giroud: 6
If only he was quicker. He does help Hazard who can link off the big man from the left so he deserves his place when he plays.
