Rate the players from Brighton 1-2 Chelsea

After Chelsea held on to beat Brighton 2-1, we rate the players.

Kepa: 7

The Spaniard had his now standard good game. The best goalkeeper in terms of distribution the club has ever had.

Cesar Azpilicueta: 6

I have criticised him a lot this season. But to be fair to him, he is improving every game. That drive is why he has always been such a consistent player.

Antonio Rudiger: 6

As good as his form has been this season, he still has things to work on. He gets caught behind the player he is trying to win headers over. When he doesn’t win the header the team can get into trouble.

David Luiz: 7

Continued from his excellent performance against City. Helped make the first goal with a wonderful long pass and defended well.

Marcos Alonso: 4

Another poor display so he has to rate a 4. He was caught out of sync with his defensive line on multiple occasions. He also gave away possession in areas that allowed Brighton to counterattack.

Jorginho: 6

Took a while to grow into the game but once he did he was popping the ball about like always.

N’Golo Kante: 6

A reasonably solid outing. He was able to prevent Brighton breaking when Chelsea lost the ball. An invaluable asset.

Mateo Kovacic: 6

Not as influential as he normally is. Loftus-Cheek showed himself to be more threatening when he came on. But he does press high and keep the ball excellently.

Pedro: 7

Productive again in terms of end product. Unlike Willian, he will time late runs into the area from the right.

Willian: 7

He is so much better on the left wing, a totally different player. I never want to see him on the right again.

Eden Hazard: 9

An incredible performance. He dropped off into space in Central positions allowing the wingers and full backs to exploit the spaces left by Brighton as they went out to close Hazard down. He can thrive in this role.
