Chelsea youngster Andrey Santos was spotted in Dortmund last night as the Blues fell to a 1-0 defeat in Germany.

The Champions League Round of 16 didn’t get off to a great start, with the club leaving themselves everything to do in the reverse fixture in three weeks’ time.

A decent performance was again undone by the ability to score the all-important goals. Joao Felix came closest with an effort that struck the crossbar in the first half.

Owner Todd Boehly was again seen in the crowd multiple times on the TV coverage. There is obviously plenty of focus on him right now due to his recent dealings in the transfer market.

He used January as an opportunity to rebuild an underperforming squad. They brought in the likes of Enzo Fernandez, Mykhailo Mudryk and Benoit Badiashile.

However, one of the signings which the club are most excited about is the addition of Santos.

Santos seen at Chelsea game

The Brazilian has been recently seen leading his nation to glory in the U20 South American Championships, where he scored in nearly every game from midfield.

Now, he has been spotted with the owner at the Champions League match, as the Blues await news of whether he will be granted a work permit.

Chelsea are hopeful that it will be granted so they can integrate him in the first team straight away, with them very excited about the player’s prospects already.

While it may be too early to be thinking first team appearances just yet, there is a desire for the Blues to find a long-term partner for Fernandez.

So far, the World Cup winner has been paired with Conor Gallagher and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, with the two unlikely to be remaining at Stamford Bridge for too much longer.
