Chelsea’s Thiago Silva has responded angrily to Brazilian media source TNT Sports Brazil after their Instagram post about Enzo Fernandez.

The pair played 90 minutes against Borussia Dortmund last night, as the Blues fell to a 1-0 defeat in Germany.

They enjoyed the lion share of the good chances, however ran into a similar problem in terms of finding the back of the net.

Fernandez maybe thought he had scored in the final minutes. His effort from the edge of the box was saved superbly.

Joao Felix also came close, with his effort crashing back off the crossbar.

The Blues were caught out by a counter-attack from their own corner, with Karim Adeyami scoring a superb solo goal.

It came at the expense of Fernandez, who was left in a 1v1 scenario with the pacey attacker that he was unable to stop.

Silva defends Fernandez

Jude Bellingham has already said he was surprised that Chelsea let this happen, however they learnt their lesson way too late.

TNT Sports Brazil posted jokingly on Instagram that the World Cup winner is still looking for the striker, whose pace really was tough to match.

Silva showed his captaincy and leadership traits in the comments however. He instructed the news outlet to be more serious, and show more respect.

The Brazilian himself had another sensational showing despite the defeat, and will be a certainty in the squad for the second leg should he be fit.

The same will undoubtedly be the case for Fernandez, who continued to show his qualities in a midfield where a more defensive partner could see him find his ideal duo.

With Denis Zakaria and Mateo Kovacic pushing for a return, it could be more auditions for the part in the coming weeks.
