Reports in recent hours have linked Chelsea will a move to sign Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise.

Fabrizio Romano has stated that the Blues currently hold a lot of interest in bringing him in this summer ahead of fellow interested party Manchester City.

Olise’s creativity was clear to see last season, despite playing for a team who struggled for goals in a similar way to how Chelsea did.

Assists were hard to come by too for any players at Stamford Bridge either. Their top provider last season was Raheem Sterling with four.

The deal would bring back an academy graduate who left the club as a youngster, something that did not eventually happen when Declan Rice was granted his big move.

A return for Olise would certainly be given the seal of approval by Gallagher, who has claimed that he is one of the most exciting players he has ever played with.

Gallagher praised Olise

He said: “He [Olise] was in the academy with Chelsea when we were younger and he was always 2 years below me, so I never really knew what he was like. So, I never knew what to expect when he came to Palace.

“But he was just so exciting, even to play with. You’d give the ball to his feet and you’d kind of expect him to go and do something magic.

“I feel like he’s got such a bright future and yeah, just a joy to play with.”

There have been reports today that Gallagher could be about to be surplus to requirements at Chelsea, although surely the club will be hesitant to do that based on their transfer activity.

They are struggling to get a deal over the line to bring in Moises Caicedo, who is very much their number one target for a midfielder.
