Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah was left very impressed by the performance of 20-year-old Bashir Humphreys last night.
He told the official club website that he is doing everything he can to make life as easy as possible for the youngster when representing the first team,
Humphreys was handed the start last night as the Blues faced their toughest test on paper of pre-season so far.

They drew 1-1 with Newcastle United, a side who have strengthened well since qualifying for the Champions League last season.
It was a combination of youth and experience for Mauricio Pochettino last night, with Humphreys being one of the few youngsters to start.
Chalobah praises Humphreys
Chalobah, who played alongside him last night, has claimed he was impressed with his performance up against an established Premier League attack.
He said: “It is another step and experience for Bash which he coped with very well. I try to help him a lot with my experience of playing in his position the past two years. I have been trying to make him feel comfortable and ready to play.

“Communication is key. Trying to be positive no matter the situation. Like if he does a mistake, I think it is good for the young players to hear someone being positive next to them, and that’s what I did. At the end of the day, we’re on the same team and doing the same job.”
It has previously been claimed that the centre-back is one of the players who the manager is open to allowing to go on loan this season.
However, his displays in pre-season so far will have done plenty to convince some that he could be a useful asset for the Blues to keep hold of this season.
