Chelsea youngster Charlie Webster completed his move to SC Heerenveen yesterday on a season-long loan.

Charlie Webster, who’s just 19, is a talented midfielder in the Blues academy.

Now, the English teenager is set for his first taste of senior football in his career.

He’s joined Dutch top-flight club Heerenveen on loan for the 2023/24 season, which is a great opportunity for him to continue his development and tackle first-team football.

Webster uploaded a message on Instagram following the completion of his loan transfer on Friday.

“So excited to be here. Time to get to work!” he wrote.

Interestingly, John Terry and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were among those to respond in the comment section.

“Good luck Chaz,” Terry responded.

It’s great to see this current generation of Chelsea academy prospects still have the support from club legends like JT.

There’s no doubt he’s helped inspire so many at Cobham.

The Evening Standard claimed back in January that Webster attracted interest from both Borussia Dortmund and PSV Eindhoven.

We’re delighted to see he got his loan move this summer instead.

He’s been a big presence in Chelsea’s youth teams, so it’s going to be intriguing to see if he can replicate that success when he steps up to first-team football.

The Eredivisie league is a great learning curve for young prospects, with so many past and presence Chelsea players developing their games with stints in Holland.

Webster is a technically gifted central midfielder whose biggest challenge may be adapting physically. We’ve got a lot of faith in him to do just that!
