Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is set to return to Real Madrid after Florentino Perez’s election win.

Mourinho was Real Madrid boss from 2010–13, and his move back to the Spanish giants could be really good news for Chelsea.

Chelsea are expected to purchase a new centre-back this summer, and Mourinho may be able to help them with that.

Ibrahima Konate and Antonio Rudiger partnership could give Chelsea another chance to sign Dean Huijsen

In the past, Chelsea have shown interest in Dean Huijsen, who could soon become available because of Ibrahima Konate’s imminent arrival at the Santiago Bernabeu.

According to AS, Konate will partner Antonio Rudiger in central defence under Mourinho next season.

It means Huijsen will be condemned to a bench role, and if the 21-year-old does not like the sound of that idea, it would not be a huge surprise if he pushed for a move in the transfer window.

After being such a huge success in the Premier League while at Bournemouth, Huijsen will have suitors. Chelsea’s desire to bring in a new centre-half would make them a likely candidate for his signature.

In fact, it has already been claimed that Chelsea are still keen on Huijsen and that a deal could happen if Enzo Fernandez heads in the opposite direction.

Real Madrid are interested in signing Fernandez as they look to strengthen their midfield. Fernandez has not distanced himself from the Real Madrid rumours in interviews, so this one definitely has legs.

A move to Chelsea would see Huijsen swiftly reunite with Xabi Alonso, who was his manager at Real Madrid last season before being sacked.

In total, Huijsen made 23 appearances and scored one goal under the new Chelsea boss.

The Club World Cup holders could have a back three of Huijsen, Levi Colwill and Reece James next term if the Spain international joins them. There is no guarantee that Alonso uses his successful 3-4-2-1 formation, however.
