It is a fresh start for Chelsea’s players this summer, with new manager Xabi Alonso coming in.

However, not everyone is going to get an opportunity under the Spaniard. Goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina is set to be sold, for example.

The 22-year-old is not the only Chelsea outcast who is set to leave Stamford Bridge in the transfer window.

Everton believe Tyrique George can develop into a ‘top-level’ player

Tyrique George could join Everton permanently after spending the second half of last season on loan at the Merseyside club.

According to TEAMtalk, Everton are giving serious consideration to purchasing the winger, with David Moyes’ side having a buy option.

The outlet claims that the Toffees believe George has the potential to develop into a “top-level” player.

George did not make a huge impact at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. He made just one start during his loan spell last season and failed to score a goal or provide an assist.

Nevertheless, Everton clearly see something in the Chelsea academy product and seem prepared to take another punt on him.

Tyrique George can become a Premier League success

Since breaking into Chelsea’s first team, George has not shown anything to suggest that he is going to become a truly elite player. With that being said, there have been signs that he could develop into a good Premier League footballer.

George is quite young but was pretty useful for Enzo Maresca, playing as both a left winger and centre-forward. It is very promising that he can already play in those two positions.

He has scored six goals and provided six assists for Chelsea, which is not bad for a 20-year-old. One of his strikes back in the 2024/25 season — an equaliser against Fulham — was such a clever finish and helped the Blues to qualify for the Champions League.

The England Under-21 international has had some good moments and clearly has enough quality to establish himself at another Premier League club.
