Tammy Abraham is apparently not interested in discussing the possibility of a contract extension at Chelsea, according to The Athletic
Sources suggest that the 23-year-old has shown no evidence that he wants to renew his deal that runs out in 2023.
Chelsea’s growing interest in signing Erling Haaland has sent a clear message to their current strikers that they want to see change.
It also signals that one of either Abraham or Olivier Giroud will probably be pushed to the wings or moved on completely.
Giroud could leave for free this summer if he decides against extending his spell at Stamford Bridge for another year.
Abraham on the other hand could be sold for a price if Chelsea wanted to cash in on his current agreement.
It has been an unusual season for the England forward.
He is Chelsea’s top scorer in 2020/21 with 12 goals, to go alongside his six assists.
The majority of these goals came under Frank Lampard – he gave the academy graduate his chance in the first team.
But Abraham has just started four out of Thomas Tuchel’s first eight games in charge, only finding the back of the net against Barnsley.
For the other fixtures, he’s either been left on the bench or brought on for the final 15 minutes or so.
Understandably, Abraham wants to be the main man for club and country. However, this certainly won’t happen if Haaland arrives.
An exit from Chelsea for Abraham could still be on the cards.

You’d be hard pressed to find a Chelsea fan that wouldn’t be sad to see Abraham leave, me included.
I just fear that Tuchel sees more in Giroud and if the Haaland transfer does develop further, the young forward’s future looks troubling.
If this was the case, I’d imagine he’d have plenty of suitors willing to snap him up for a good price.
