Reports from Spain have claimed Chelsea have now got a great opportunity to sign Barcelona defender Jules Kounde this summer.
According to Sport, the Blues can convince the La Liga side to deal with them for a fee of £65m at the end of the season.
Chelsea were very well known to be interested in signing Kounde last summer when Thomas Tuchel was in charge of the club.
The German reportedly wanted the 24-year-old to play as both a right-back as well as a centre-back.
However, it is this very reason why he reportedly wants to leave the La Liga champions after just one season with the club.
The Frenchman chose Xavi’s project ahead of the Blues, and based on this season it can certainly be said that he made the right call.

Nevertheless, there is still a reported chance that he could end up at Stamford Bridge as a result of the Blues’ interest this summer.
Questions have to be asked however as to whether a defender is what the club should be looking to sign this summer.
