Chelsea supporters could be heard chanting how unimpressed they were that Manchester United were able to get the better of their side at Old Trafford.

The Blues were soundly beaten 4-1 by Erik ten Hag’s side, who qualified for the Champions League for next season with the victory.

Europe’s elite competition looks some way away from Chelsea right now. They sit in 12th place after the defeat last night.

Supporters have become used to the dire showings this season, however they have hardly become easier over time to get used to.

The first half against United saw the club miss countless big chances. Mykhailo Mudryk, Kai Havertz and Conor Gallagher were all to blame for opportunities going begging before the Red Devils pulled away.

Perhaps resigned to their fate for the rest of the season, the loyal travelling supporters could be heard singing “you’re nothing special, we lose every week” as they stared another defeat in the face.

Mauricio Pochettino is expected to be the next permanent manager of the club, and watching recently he will know there is plenty of work to be done in order to turn around the sinking ship.

He will at least been have encouraged by the performance of Enzo Fernandez, who again impressed when so few did in blue shirts.

With his contract seeing him remain at the club for a long time to come, they will be relying on him to lead them into next season and beyond.
