Christian Pulisic says Chelsea youngster Benoit Badiashile has made a great impact at the start of his Chelsea career.

Badiashile, who joined back in January, cost the Blues £35million to sign from Monaco.

The 21-year-old is a young defender tipped as one for the future, but he’s already shown he can contribute massively in the first team.

He’s a left-footed centre-back who has stood out as strong, composed and technical in his first seven Chelsea appearances.

The French youngster has been a tad unlucky to lose his starting position to Marc Cucurella in recent games, but he slots in really nicely to Graham Potter’s defence.

Pulisic has applauded his Chelsea teammate for the way he stepped into the team, especially during what was a really difficult period.

When discussing Badiashile to ESPN, Pulisic said: “A calming presence back there when things weren’t going great.”

Thankfully, it looks like Chelsea have completed a U-turn on their season by winning three games in a row. Next, a test this evening at home to Everton in the Premier League.

It’s a great point that Badiashile was thrown into the deep end in a Chelsea XI that looked all over the place a month ago.

He’s definitely shown he’s already at the level required to play for the Blues, so let’s see how much more opportunities he gets in the final third of the season.

The Athletic recently claimed that Chelsea’s staff have been really impressed by the individual performances of Badiashile.

We’ve got to agree with them!
