Chelsea star Reece James reacts to his fresh injury on social media
Chelsea ace Reece James has reacted on social media after Thomas Tuchel confirmed the defender’s muscular injury problem earlier on Wednesday.
As Tuchel pointed out in his pre-match press conference ahead of their trip to Norwich City’s Carrow Road, it is not good news for Chelsea.
The 22-year-old picked up a knock in Saturday’s big win over Burnley, and Tuchel was not taking any chances as he substituted him off shortly after.
James even said that he felt “all right” after the game.
Unfortunately, he could not train on Wednesday and Tuchel decided that he needed further examinations.
James is clearly the one most disappointed with the situation having recently returned from a nine-week hamstring injury absence.
“Patience is key,” he wrote in an Instagram story.
“Everything happens for a reason. See you soon.”
According to Transfermarkt, James has already missed 16 games this season due to injury and fitness issues.
In comparison, he missed just four matches last term and played an important part in Chelsea’s Champions League-winning campaign.
On a more positive note, Tuchel should now be able to rely on Cesar Azpilicueta, after recently having to use Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Andreas Christensen in unfamiliar right wing-back and right-back positions, respectively.
