Ethan Ampadu completed his permanent move away from Chelsea this week by joining Leeds United.
Ethan Ampadu, who’s been on Chelsea’s books since 2017, secured a £7million (BBC) transfer to Championship club Leeds.
The versatile 22-year-old has spent numerous spells away from Stamford Bridge on loan, including the past couple of years in Italy.
However, the Wales international has been unable to force his way into the Blues first-team plans under new head coach Mauricio Pochettino.

Ampadu uploaded a heartfelt message on Instagram after six years at Chelsea, where he played 12 first-team games.
He’s received messages in the comment section from current Blues stars such as Levi Colwill, Conor Gallagher and Callum Hudson-Odoi. It’s interesting that all three are linked with potential transfers away from the Bridge, too.
“Good luck brother,” Colwill responded.

Our wish is that Colwill, 20, doesn’t follow him out of the club’s exit doors this summer.
We understand and support the huge fire sale of players by the Blues, but he’s one with a genuine path into the starting XI.

We will be curious observers of Ampadu’s career despite the fact he’s officially no longer a Chelsea player.
He’s almost been a victim of his own versatility because many don’t know if he’s a better centre-back or defensive midfielder.
In our view, Ampadu will drop perfectly into a No 6 position for Leeds in the Championship and massively impress.
