Romelu Lukaku's hilarious two-word message to Didier Drogba after his Chelsea goal in CWC final

Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku has sent a hilarious two-word message to Didier Drogba on social media after success in the Club World Cup final.

Chelsea completed the full set of club trophies on Saturday by beating Brazilian side Palmeiras.

It took a gruelling 120 minutes for the Blues to eventually win 2-1 after extra-time, with Kai Havertz’s 117th minute penalty the difference between the teams.

Thomas Tuchel’s reign as manager at Stamford Bridge continues to bring success, so the weekend’s result could be the perfect springboard moving into the rest of this season.

Lukaku, who opened the scoring with a 55th minute header, has sent an Instagram message to Chelsea legend Drogba about his goal.

He put the two-word caption “eyes closed” with the image of his headed goal.

In fairness, Lukaku’s goal was a bullet header even if his eyes were shut on impact.

The Belgian centre-forward celebrated the trophy with another post on his Instagram, too.

Lukaku receiving Chelsea backing

Lukaku’s levels still don’t look at his very best, but his manager Thomas Tuchel is sticking by him by consistently starting him.

He scored in both the semi-final and final of the Club World Cup, so he should return home with a spring in his step.

It’s now time for him to step up during the business end of the season.

There are signs of players such as Callum Hudson-Odoi, Hakim Ziyech and Kai Havertz building more combinations with him as the focal point.
