'Absolutely': TalkSPORT pundit would like to see 'incredible' attacker join Chelsea, Blues reportedly want him

Jason Cundy has admitted he wants to see Barcelona attacker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Chelsea amid interest.

The Blues have made some significant signings so far in the transfer window to help build an exciting squad, but there’s still one gaping hole at Stamford Bridge.

With Romelu Lukaku exiting this summer to return to Inter Milan on loan, every fan is worried about the No.9 position.

Youngster Armando Broja has joined the first-team squad after an eye-catching loan at Southampton last year, while German pair Kai Havertz and Timo Werner can play centrally. It does feel like they’re missing a recognised goalscoring centre-forward, though.

Cundy wants Aubameyang at Chelsea

TalkSPORT pundit and Chelsea fan Cundy claims he’s open to the idea of seeing Aubameyang move to Stamford Bridge.

It’s been reported that the Blues may reportedly want to sign Barcelona’s 33-year-old striker, who previously enjoyed success at Borussia Dortmund when he was coached by manager Thomas Tuchel.

As it stands, Chelsea do have Aubameyang in their sights as a potential option to improve the forward line.

“Of the ones that are available Aubameyang is not the worst, for me,” Cundy told talkSPORT.

“I would absolutely have him [at Chelsea].”

“Aubameyang would be a better fit up top for Chelsea than [Cristiano] Ronaldo would be.”

Rivals have ST

If you look at Chelsea’s main rivals in the Premier League this season, they’ve mostly all got top-class strikers.

Manchester City and Liverpool have both signed new centre-forwards in Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez, respectively. In addition, North London duo Tottenham and Arsenal are spearheaded in attack by Harry Kane and Gabriel Jesus.

Previously described as “incredible” by Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic, Aubameyang would be someone to lead the Chelsea line. Can the ex-Arsenal man still score goals consistently at the Premier League level, though?
