Canoville expects prospective Chelsea owners to keep out-of-favour player
Blues icon Paul Canoville claims Christian Pulisic deserves to get more consistent game time and that the prospective Chelsea buyers are unlikely to sanction the winger’s summer sale.
Mark Pulisic, the father of the Chelsea winger, posted a rather interesting tweet after Chelsea’s loss to Everton on Sunday.
“The sad thing is he loves this club, teammates, and London.… puts his heart and soul into being a pro,” Mark wrote on Twitter (via Goal).
“Onwards and upwards my boy…big six months ahead.”
Mark deleted the tweet shortly after perhaps to avoid any speculations over his son’s future at Stamford Bridge.
It clearly did not work as it already caught a lot of attention, including from Chelsea icons Frank Leboeuf and, more recently, Canoville.
“Real shame to see Mr. Pulisic having to delete a tweet for supporting his son,” Canoville said in a tweet.
“I hope he gets a decent run in the team.
“I think he’s a player [who] needs consistent games not just minutes here and there.
“Big-squad problem!
“I think new owners will surely want him to stay!”
Well, given the number of American investors involved in the race to buy Chelsea, it would hardly be a surprise if the eventual winners would want to keep the USMNT poster boy at the club.
At 23, Pulisic also still has plenty of time and room to grow to claim a regular spot under Thomas Tuchel.
