Steve Nicol is convinced Romelu Lukaku won’t be at Chelsea next season.
Lukaku, who’s still under contract at Chelsea until 2026, is currently on a season-long loan with Inter Milan.
The striker has scored just five goals in 18 appearances this campaign for Inter, but he’s had several injuries disrupt his minutes and momentum.
As it stands, he’s due back at Stamford Bridge this summer when his loan ends. In fact, Inter Milan’s CEO Giuseppe Marotta said earlier this month that Lukaku will definitely return to Chelsea.

ESPN pundit Nicol doesn’t think Lukaku will be reintegrated to the Chelsea group next season.
When asked if Lukaku could still make it at Chelsea, Nicol told ESPN: “No, absolutely not. No chance. He will not be at Chelsea at the start of next season. They will have to bite the bullet.”
Some may look at it as a blank canvas on Lukaku’s career in West London, with Graham Potter the latest head coach in the manager’s dugout.
However, it’s hard to imagine the fanbase really getting behind the £97.5million forward.

We feel like the time has passed on Lukaku’s Chelsea spell, but trying to get rid of him could be a real obstacle.
If they try to sell the Belgium international, we expect a colossal loss on the fee. However, it’s a signing that was made under the previous owners.
Potter’s side definitely need a clinical goalscorer who knows where the back of the net it, something that a fit and firing Lukaku can deliver.
It would be the greatest of comebacks if he performs a U-turn on his Blues career, though.
