'He's a top player': TalkSPORT pundit suggests reported £65m Chelsea target is a better player than Richarlison

Ray Parlour suggests Chelsea would be better off trying to sign Raphinha than Richarlison this summer amid reported interest in both.

First of all, the Blues are linked with a move for £65million-rated Leeds United winger Raphinha. It’s been claimed that Thomas Tuchel’s side are now getting “serious” about a raid in this transfer window for the 25-year-old attacker.

In addition, Chelsea are rumoured to be admirers of Everton forward Richarlison. In fact, they are reportedly weighing up making an offer for the £50million-rated man. Richarlison, 25, is someone senior Chelsea players think could be a smart addition at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea should sign Raphinha over Richarlison

TalkSPORT pundit Parlour has been discussing the aforementioned duo, who are both at the centre of transfer rumours right now.

He suggests any potential buyers may be wiser trying to sign “top player” Raphinha over Brazilian compatriot Richarlison.

Host Alan Brazil said on talkSPORT: “I’d rather pay £50m for Raphinha than Richarlison.”

Ray Parlour responded: “Yes, I would as well. I think Richarlison is a top player, don’t get me wrong, but he’s a little bit inconsistent at times. Raphinha has shown he’s a top player and I’m sure lots of clubs will be in for him.”

Brazilian battle

It’s going to interesting to see who Chelsea sign in this window under the new ownership of Todd Boehly.

Raphinha and Richarlison are key figures for their respective Premier League sides, so are both worth of big-money transfers this summer.

The Leeds ace is a more conventional winger that brings excitement, flair and a touch of class. In contrast, Richarlison is someone that relies on athleticism and work rate just as much as his South American skill.
