'I would insist': TalkSPORT pundit tells Everton to swap Anthony Gordon for Chelsea's 'terrific' player

Danny Murphy has told Everton to request Armando Broja from Chelsea as part of a deal to sell them Anthony Gordon.

One of many transfer sagas around Stamford Bridge right now is that Chelsea want to sign Gordon this summer from Everton. In fact, the Blues may reportedly be willing to cough up a huge £60million sum for him.

Gordon, 21, is a skilful attacker with bags of pace and potential, albeit plenty of eyebrows are being raised about his valuation.

TalkSPORT pundit Murphy suggests Everton demand Chelsea include one of their own players as part of a swap deal for Gordon.

He thinks “terrific” 20-year-old Blues striker Broja would be ideal for the Merseyside club.

“Broja would be part of the [Anthony Gordon] deal, I would insist on that. I think he’s a terrific talent,” Murphy told talkSPORT.

“Broja would be a real asset to them. I thought he was really good at Southampton in a struggling side.”

Broja part of Gordon deal

Latest rumours suggest that Murphy may get his wish for Everton.

It’s been claimed that the Toffees have actually asked Chelsea if they would be willing to loan out Broja or Conor Gallagher as part of the transfer for Gordon.

It’s clear that Frank Lampard’s Everton could do with a new No.9 in their squad. They’ve sold Richarlison to Tottenham, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin is becoming injury prone.

However, Chelsea can’t really afford to lose Broja.

The exciting youngster is back with the Blues squad, who are desperately short of options in the striker position themselves.

Broja showed during an eye-catching loan at Southampton last season he’s top-flight quality, so keeping him around Stamford Bridge and competing for a starting position could be the smart option.
