'It would be a super signing': TalkSPORT pundit tells Chelsea to go out and buy £60m attacker

Danny Murphy has urged Chelsea to go out and complete a deal for Manchester City star Raheem Sterling, who’s being strongly linked with a transfer to Stamford Bridge.

The 27-year-old England star could be on the move during this summer window.

The Sun claimed earlier this month that Man City want around £60million for Chelsea target Sterling, with the player keen to move somewhere he can start more games.

It’s been claimed the Blues are hopeful of landing the Man City attacker for a bargain fee of around £35million.

Sterling to Chelsea

It’ll be one of the signings of the summer if Sterling does leave the Premier League champions to join Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea.

TalkSPORT pundit Murphy is convinced the exciting forward would be a hit in West London.

“I think he’s a terrific player who’s a good fit for nearly every team because he adds goals and pace… I think for Chelsea it would be a super signing,” Murphy told talkSPORT.

England core

Chelsea could end up playing almost half the England XI if Sterling makes the move to the club.

Blues trio Mason Mount, Reece James and Conor Gallagher were all involved during the recent international period for Gareth Southgate’s England side.

Elsewhere, Ben Chilwell was a regular in the Three Lions group before his injury setback last November. Fortunately, he’s returning from injury now and made his return on the final day of the Premier League season with a late cameo appearance.

Sterling’s been a talisman in the England team before during tournament football, so he’s got the feel of a real marquee signing that could join several players he’s familiar with already.
