'It's great': Jamie O'Hara says Chelsea star is so good it's like having two players on the pitch
Jamie O’Hara has praised Chelsea star N’Golo Kante by saying it’s like having two players on the pitch when he plays.
Kante, 30, has shown Blues fans what they’ve been missing in the past couple of games since becoming available again.
The French midfielder was outstanding in the weekend’s Premier League draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
In addition, he came off the bench last night to deliver a lively 15-minute cameo. His incredible piece of skill in the build-up to the opening goal set Chelsea on their way to a 2-0 away win against Brentford in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.
TalkSPORT pundit O’Hara was blown away by Kante after Chelsea’s cup victory.
“It’s great for them now having N’Golo Kante back in the team. Had a part in both of the goals [against Brentford]… He’s like having two players,” O’Hara told talkSPORT (10:55pm, 22 December).
Chelsea can kick on with Kante back
Of course, Blues manager Thomas Tuchel needs to be watchful of overloading Kante with minutes following his return.
However, he used him wisely against Brentford with just 15 minutes from the bench, which was more than enough time for him to make him mark on the contest.
Chelsea look a completely different animal when they’ve got him in the XI impacting matches, so it’s such a relief to have him available again heading into a load of fixtures in a short space of time.
His tireless work out of possession is well renowned and he’s a master at breaking up play. However, he’s a lot better on the ball than people give him credit for and does influence the team going forward.
Owen Hargreaves explained earlier in December that Kante’s absence was massive for Chelsea because he’s “priceless” to them.
