Tim Sherwood has labelled Chelsea star Reece James as “outstanding” for his performances so far this season.
James, 21, has been in incredible form during the opening quarter of the campaign for Thomas Tuchel’s side.
The right wing-back already has four Premier League goals this season, making him the club’s highest scorer in the league. In addition, he’s been a creative threat with three league assists, too.
He’s returned to Chelsea after a couple of appearances for England during the international break, as he’s rewarded by Gareth Southgate for his recent form.
Pundit Sherwood is really impressed by the Chelsea academy graduate and has highlighted his great combination with left wing-back Ben Chilwell.
“Reece James has been outstanding. [Tuchel] likes his wing-backs to get forward. They’re almost crossing the ball to each other at times,” Sherwood said on The Weekend Preview.

James a Chelsea gem
Chelsea’s academy has come up trumps yet again with the development of James, who’s grown into a key senior player in the last couple of season.
The powerhouse defender is aggressive and fast with his back to goal. Meanwhile, fans are getting to see his real quality going forward this season.
He’s a “very, very technical” player, according to teammate Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Meanwhile, Roy Keane is tipping there is “so much more” to come from James.

Starting England RB at World Cup?
James, who’s now got 10 senior caps for England, is obviously someone England boss Southgate is a big fan of.
His aim now should be to break into England’s best XI in time for the 2022 World Cup next winter.
Manchester City’s Kyle Walker is in possession of the shirt, while Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold is another brilliant right-back rival.
However, James is playing as well as anyone in the Premier League right now.
