Pat Nevin may have named Tuchel's strongest Chelsea front three
Blues icon Pat Nevin expects Thomas Tuchel to deploy a “very strong-looking” front three using two Chelsea new signings in the future.
It is safe to say that Tuchel would not be happy with his side’s goalscoring record so far this season.
After game week six, Chelsea are currently the only team to have conceded more goals than they have scored among the top 10 teams in the Premier League table.
Obviously, the club has made an attempt to solve this issue by signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is part of the squad for Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Dinamo Zagreb.
It remains unclear whether the retired Gabon international will make his Chelsea debut in this match, but Nevin can see him as
“At some point in the future, we might see Aubameyang up top with [Kai] Havertz and [Raheem] Sterling tucked in behind,” the former Blues winger told the club’s official website.
“Now that is a very strong-looking attack with plenty of goals in them.
“Then again, the idea of Conor Gallagher and Mason Mount as a duo behind a striker is hugely impressive too.”
A front three of Aubameyang, Havertz, and Sterling is surely an interesting combination.
These three can easily interchange since each of them can play as a centre-forward and in wider areas.
On the other hand, having Gallagher and Mount behind a striker could be an option if stopping an opposing team from building from the back became a priority.
