'Remarkable': BBC pundit says they noticed Chelsea star look more confident during 2-2 draw

Karen Carney said during Chelsea’s 2-2 draw against Liverpool that Christian Pulisic looked much more confident during the second half.

Pulisic, 23, scored what turned out to be the final goal of the contest with a left-footed equaliser on the stroke of half time.

The Blues were heading into the break with a two-goal deficit due to goals from Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah. However, Mateo Kovacic’s stunning volley pulled a goal back in the 42nd minute before Pulisic’s equaliser in stoppage time.

Pulisic was guilty of wasting a great opportunity to score early in the contest when he failed to take the ball around Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.

The American attacker continued working hard to his credit and scored his third goal of the season with a lifted finish.

He’s had to cover all over the pitch due to injuries and illnesses this season, but played in his preferred left-winger role on Sunday.

BBC pundit Carney noticed Pulisic appear much more confident in his latest Chelsea performance.

“It’s remarkable what a goal can do for a player’s confidence. You can see that with Pulisic,” Carney said.

Pulisic desperately needed that Chelsea performance

Of course, Chelsea will be gutted they dropped two points against Liverpool in a game they played some of their best football of the season.

But, manager Thomas Tuchel has so much to build on.

For Pulisic, he could’ve caved in today after a shaky start to his performance.

In fairness, the speedster’s been having an underwhelming season where he’s not been at his best. There is no doubt he can be a major weapon to the Blues XI when he’s on form, though.

He very much does look a confidence player and there is no reason why he can’t carry some momentum from the weekend into games moving forward.
