Chelsea face Aston Villa Saturday evening in the Premier League, which should be music to the ears of Romelu Lukaku.

The 28-year-old is back in English football after a successful two-year spell in Italy with Inter Milan and is ready to torment Premier League defences once again.

His upcoming opponents Villa are someone that historically he loves playing against.

Lukaku has an eye-catching record of six goals in just eight appearances against Villa. The Belgian centre-forward has five victories, two draws and one defeat during those head-to-head meetings.

His most recent clash against the Midlands club came back in March 2016 at Villa Park. He scored once in a 3-1 Everton victory during a season that Villa were relegated from the Premier League. Also, in that same campaign he scored a brace against them in the reverse fixture at Goodison Park.

He’s preparing to face them today in Chelsea blue, so it’ll be intriguing to see if he can maintain his impressive record.

For certain, Lukaku is now back as a more complete player that can hurt defenders with either his strength or speed. Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker described him as an “amazing player” last month.

If Villa are to keep him quiet, they’ll need their centre-back combination of Ezri Konsa and Tyrone Mings both to be on their A-game.

Chelsea’s home fans will be giving Lukaku a hero’s welcome on his return to Stamford Bridge, which is why you’d be a brave man to bet against him finding the back of the net.
