Barcelona have scouted Chelsea captain Reece James, while Bayern Munich are also thought to be admirers of the defender.

That is according to a report from 90min.

It claims that Barcelona have looked at Reece James and that Bayern and former Chelsea manager manager Thomas Tuchel are fans of the right-back.

James seems to be attracting a lot of interest right now, with 90min also claiming that Real Madrid are keen on the player, who Graham Potter has hailed as a “fantastic” footballer.

However, having just made James captain after giving him a new deal not too long ago, it would be a shock if Chelsea actually entertained any offers for the England international.

Key player for Thomas Tuchel

James was such an important player for Tuchel during the German’s time at Stamford Bridge, so it is to be expected that he is a big fan of the full-back.

James helped Tuchel’s Chelsea side to win the Champions League back in the 2020/21 season, while he really impressed under his former boss in the Premier League the campaign after.

In 26 appearances, the Three Lions star scored five goals and provided nine assists, solid numbers for a player in his position.

You can see, then, why the likes of Bayern and Barcelona would want James, but Chelsea would have to be crazy to actually sell him to one of those clubs or Real Madrid.

If Tuchel wants a reunion, the Blues have to say no. And if Barcelona or Real Madrid come knocking, it has got to be the same answer as well.
