Chelsea’s Jorginho is being linked with a new contract at Stamford Bridge – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter are excited by the speculation.
Well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that the Blues will “soon open talks” with their midfielder about a fresh deal.
It is understood that the 29-year-old’s preference is to agree a contract extension with Chelsea.
Jorginho, who joined the Blues for £50million (BBC) back in 2018 from Napoli, is someone that has always divided the fanbase in west London.
He’s a defensive midfielder that must be one of the most comfortable in possession across the entire Premier League, but question marks are sometimes thrown at him over his physicality and pace.
The Italy international was a major favourite under ex-boss Maurizio Sarri, and has once again been back to his sharpest under Thomas Tuchel.
