Inter Milan have now agreed a deal to sign Benjamin Pavard from Bayern Munich – despite Chelsea holding talks about a move.

Well, Chelsea spoke to the France international’s agent about a potential move to Stamford Bridge on a number of occasions earlier this summer.
That was according to Christian Falk of German news outlet BILD.
The journalist told Give Me Sport: “He’s an interesting player for the Premier League. Chelsea are always in talks with his management. Liverpool are in talks with his management, Barcelona as well, but Barcelona don’t have the money at the moment. They would like to have him as a free agent next summer.”
Chelsea eventually signed another France international – Axel Disasi – in a £39m deal from Monaco, before talk of a move for Pavard went quiet.
That suggests the Blues preferred Disasi to Pavard, although whatever the true situation really was, Chelsea can now no longer sign the Bayern Munich No.5 as he prepares to join Inter Milan.
Romano wrote on Twitter: “Benjamin Pavard to Inter, here we go! The green light from Bayern arrives as €30m (£25.7m) deal plus €2m (£1.7m) add-ons will be sealed today. Pavard could travel to Milano later today for medical tests and contract signing on Wednesday. He wanted Inter move and it’s done.”

The Evening Standard believe the German has approached Chelsea to ask about a loan move for Trevoh Chalobah, and the 24-year-old is keen to join Bayern Munich.
