'It's happening': Some Chelsea fans think £74m reported target is up for sale after news drops

Plenty of Chelsea supporters on social media were sent into overdrive when they discovered the reported story coming out of Inter Milan today.

According to Gazzetta, Inter a preparing to part ways with Antonio Conte, in an attempt to downsize the clubs wage bill.

This doesn’t feel like much of a reward for a manager who had just secured the Nerazzurri’s first Serie A title since 2010.

Conte might not be the only one departing the San Siro this summer.

There were doubts the Belgian international would leave Italy whilst Conte was in charge, such is the strong relationship between player and coach.

But with the Inter boss seemingly close to an exit, Blues fans thought Lukaku wouldn’t be far behind and urged him to divert to Stamford Bridge.

Here’s how they reacted on Twitter:

Inter could seriously about to lose two of their most precious assets in one sitting.

The Italian top flight wouldn’t have been wrapped up so efficiently had Conte not been able to call upon Lukaku this season.

In 36 domestic appearances, the £74m (BBC Sport) signing scored 24 times and was just pipped to the Capocannoniereaward by Cristiano Ronaldo.

A return to Chelsea for the sizzling striker would be surprising, but a lot has happened since he left South West London in 2014.

One major change is Lukaku’s transformation into one of the most lethal attackers on the planet, something that Thomas Tuchel’s team is crying out for.

First it’s Erling Haaland, then we get Rom, followed by Robert Lewandowski. Oh, and here’s Harry Kane for good measure.

Can Chelsea please just settle on one stellar name and go after him with everything they’ve got.

And yes, I would absolutely love Lukaku to come back to the Bridge.
