Fabrizio Romano has claimed to CaughtOffside that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will definitely be on the move from Chelsea at the end of the season.

The former Arsenal and Barcelona striker was brought in to the club in an attempt to bolster their attacking options in the short-term.

With his experience working with then-manager Thomas Tuchel, it seemed a wise investment to bring him in on cut-price deal.

However, the German was sacked just one game in to Aubameyang’s time at Stamford Bridge, leaving many fearing the worst about his prospects at the club,

His relationship with new boss Graham Potter has been strained. The Englishman made the call to substitute him in a game against Manchester City despite him not starting the game.

This had left the forward seething, and he has hardly featured since.

Aubameyang will definitely leave

Now, Romano has claimed that he will be on the move this summer, meaning Chelsea will definitely look to invest in the position going forwards.

He said: “I think it’s not surprising that Chelsea will explore market for new striker, Aubameyang will leave and they only have Broja.

“Nkunku is not a number 9, he’s probably going to play behind the striker. But it’s not too early to know for sure what decisions Chelsea will make on who’s going to be the right candidate.”

Nkunku himself has claimed that his best position is not as an outright striker, and that is likely echoed by the thoughts of current loan star Joao Felix about his own game.

There have been recent reports that the club are interested in Ivan Toney from Brentford, who has proven to be a top Premier League striker for the last few years now.

However, the threat of a ban continues to linger over his head, perhaps making him an unattractive signing.
