Arsenal are now reportedly interested in Chelsea teenager Levi Colwill.

According to GOAL, the Gunners have made an inquiry over potentially pinching Colwill from their London rival.

Arsenal interested in Colwill

The 19-year-old has attracted plenty of Premier League punters, following a highly impressive loan spell with Huddersfield Town.

His campaign could be capped off on Sunday, when the Terriers take on Nottingham Forest in the lucrative Championship Playoff final.

But even if Huddersfield fail to secure promotion, their young defender might be on his way to the top flight anyway.

Colwill will either be restored to Chelsea’s ranks, or swept up by another first division club.

Thomas Tuchel could do with extra defensive reinforcements right now, thanks to the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

Yet, with a £200m (Evening Standard) war chest apparently at his disposal, the Blues boss might opt for a big signing over big potential.

In this case, Colwill’s Premier League career could well begin across the capital instead.

Arsenal need to add depth to a relatively slim senior squad as they prepare for a Europa League campaign.

Left centre-back is certainly an area that requires cover, with Gabriel the only recognised player in this position.

Permitted he joins Mikel Arteta’s men, the England Under-21 international will be following in the footsteps of compatriot Emile Smith Rowe.

Smith Rowe also went on loan to Huddersfield before establishing himself as an Arsenal regular.

Levi is living it up

Whilst Chelsea fans would hate to see one of their own sign for a close adversary, the thought of witnessing another academy graduate step onto the continental stage must be an exciting one.

Tammy Abraham won the Europa Conference League on Wednesday with Roma, after Fikayo Tomori helped AC Milan to the Serie A title.

It could well be Colwill’s turn to achieve European success, either with Tuchel or Arteta.

Or, the teenager may have to be contempt with domestic matters.

Alongside Arsenal, GOAL claim Leicester City, Crystal Palace, Southampton and Brighton all want his signature.

Depending how he performs in pre-season, Levi could find himself anywhere in the country in the next few months.
