Chelsea are reportedly one of several clubs that are keeping an eye on Manchester United talent Dean Henderson, who is currently thriving out on loan in the Premier League at Sheffield United.
According to the Daily Mail, the Blues are joined by Tottenham, Paris Saint-Germain and Sheffield United in showing an interest in the 22-year-old.
It is understood that Manchester United are stuck with a dilemma over his future heading into the summer when he returns to Old Trafford from his second loan spell with Sheffield United.
The report explains that he’s viewed as a long-term successor to David De Gea, but potential suitors are circling to see if he can snap them up.
Chelsea reportedly want a new challenger in goal, as they have “doubts” over Spaniard Kepa Arrizabalaga and he recently lost his starting position to veteran Willy Caballero.
Kepa had to make do with a spot in the bench in the last match during a 2-2 draw with Leicester City and it will be intriguing to see how long he sits out for.
The 25-year-old was impressive during his first season at Stamford Bridge last year, but he looked extremely vulnerable in net this campaign and doesn’t command his box.
Henderson has made quite the impression in the top-flight with Sheffield United this season and helped them earn promotion from the Championship last year.
The shot-stopper has nine clean sheets in 26 games across all competitions this campaign and has pulled off some incredible saves for the Blades.
He’s been drafted into the England senior squad without earning his first cap, but is a serious star that is already performing in the Premier League and it would interesting to see how much could tempt Manchester United into selling him on a permanent basis.
